There's a story making the news cycle today – a mayor in Sicily has offered villas for sale for a single Euro apiece. The catch being that the villas were damaged in a 1968 earthquake and have not had anybody living in them since. Buyers can indeed purchase the property for one Euro but must improve and renovate the homes within two years.
Man, if I could, I would. Aside from the opportunity of having a vacation home in Italy I would enjoy having the chance to fix one up. Unfortunately, Italy is just a little bit too far away for this to be viable for me…but I really like this idea. It's kinda haunting my daydreams at the moment.
